Actress, Halima Abubakar, who recently joined her other colleagues in quitting the Nollywood, the Nigerian movie industry, has revealed the real reason she took the decision.

In a statement by her management team, the ailing actress who has been embroiled in several controversies over the years announced the news via her verified Instagram page @halimabubakar.
Expressing gratitude to all her fans, the actress who began acting in 2001 when she played a minor role in Rejected, and her first lead role in Gangster Paradise, appreciated them for their love and prayers.
“Halima Abubakar quit acting we are so grateful for all the prayers. God bless you all but as from today, she will no longer act. It is her wish. We love you all. Thank you for your support. She is so downcast. She really did love acting. Thank you,” the statement read.
The CEO of Modehouse Entertainment, a music label and entertainment management company join other Nollywood stars like Tonto Dikeh, Funke Akindele, who also quit the movie industry for political reasons.
Recall that the Kogi native, who was born in Kano, was enmeshed in a sexual relationship with Auchi base cleric, Apostle Johnson Suleman of the Omega Fire Ministries Worldwide, which she admitted.
