A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms will premiere in January 2026, while House of the Dragon Season 3 is set for mid-year.
Two new entries in the Game of Thrones franchise are officially on the way. HBO Chairman and CEO Casey Bloys has confirmed that A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms: The Hedge Knight and House of the Dragon Season 3 will both debut in 2026.

A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms—originally expected in 2025, will now arrive in January 2026. Based on George R.R. Martin’s novella trilogy Tales of Dunk and Egg, the series is set 90 years before the events of A Song of Ice and Fire. The show follows Ser Duncan the Tall (Peter Claffey) and his young squire “Egg” (Dexter Sol Ansell), who will one day become King Aegon V Targaryen.

Bloys also confirmed that House of the Dragon will return for its third season in mid-2026, two years after the release of Season 2. The prequel series, which chronicles the bloody Targaryen civil war known as the “Dance of the Dragons,” has been one of HBO’s strongest performers since its debut.
With both shows landing in the same year, fans of Westeros can look forward to two fresh chapters expanding Martin’s fantasy world.
