“I Couldn’t Cry on Command”—Oghenetega Shares His Toughest Scene in “Revelations”

In “Revelations,” Oghenetega  delivers one of his more visible screen performances to date but behind the polished final cut was a moment that pushed him out of his comfort zone.

In an exclusive interview with The Nollywood Reporter, the upcoming actor recounted a particularly challenging experience while filming in Utah. “My character had this really emotional scene where I had to cry,” he said. “That scene stressed me out so much because I can’t cry on command!”

The pressure of the moment and the expectations of the role made the scene especially demanding. “I was really anxious about it because once the camera rolls, I have to cry. And it’s not easy.”

What stood out even more for him was seeing how the more experienced cast handled their own emotional beats. “Watching the other actors pull it off so effortlessly showed me the level of professionalism on set,” he said.

He pointed to one moment involving his father and co-star, Richard Mofe-Damijo (RMD), as a turning point in his perspective. “Especially this one scene with my dad—when they said ‘action,’ the way the floodgates just opened for him was insane,” Oghenetega recalled. “It just made me realise how incredible and skilled these actors are. That whole moment really stayed with me.”
