The Ibadan Indie Film Awards (IFA) has announced 22 official film selections and two special presentations for its 2025 edition, scheduled for November 27–29 at the New Culture Studio in Ibadan.
Among the selected titles are Irin Ajo (The Journey) by Myde Glover, Mother by Olamide Adio and Victor Daniel, and Isekonu by Emmanuel Adeojo all of which recently appeared on the Lagos Fringe Festival screening schedule. The organisers released the full selection list on Instagram ahead of the three-day event.
The lineup also includes The Girl Who Cannot Love, a film addressing the long-term effects of gender-based violence by Oluwafemi P. Atoyebi. Other titles are Running Shoes by Kelly O. Erovwosere, Telephone by Fimisinuola Adejonwo, First Blood by King James Dandy, Beyond Olympic Glory by Shedrack Salami, Market People by Jeremiah John, and In Our Dreams We Fly by Festus Obehi Destiny.

For its special presentations, IFA will spotlight Ema Edosio’s When Nigeria Happens and Chukwu Martin’s We Danced & Danced, a story of two runaways navigating a shared past.
Speaking to The Nollywood Reporter, festival director Moses Ipadeola confirmed that all selected films will be screened, while nominees for award categories, including new additions, will be released soon.
With this year’s theme, “IFA is Home,” the festival aims to highlight Ibadan’s growing relevance as a hub for independent filmmaking.
