The International Finance Corporation (IFC), a member of the World Bank Group, has signed a mandate partnership with Bolanle Austen-Peters’ Terra Kulture aimed at strengthening Nigeria’s creative ecosystem.
The partnership, announced via Terra Kulture’s Instagram page, will support the development of standard creative facilities designed to build skills and create employment opportunities across theatre, film, and cultural projects.

According to the IFC, the investment will also prioritise opportunities for women and young people, with a focus on building a more inclusive creative economy and supporting sustainable livelihoods through the arts.
Terra Kulture has, for decades, focused on promoting African culture and history through stage and screen productions such as Funmilayo Ransome-Kuti and Fela and The Kalakuta Queens. The organisation also supports skills development for creatives through the Terra Academy for the Arts (TAFTA).
The partnership reflects growing international interest in Nigeria’s creative sector and its potential role in economic diversification, as well as Terra Kulture’s position within the country’s theatre, film, and cultural production space.
