“77: The Festac Conspiracy”, the long-awaited film by ace Nollywood director Izu Ojukwu, is set to premiere at the AfroCannes Diversity & Inclusion Event during the 2025 Cannes Film Festival in France.
Starring Ramsey Nouah and Rita Dominic in lead roles, the film was specially selected by the Nigerian Film Corporation (NFC) to debut its exclusive first look at the festival.
In a recent press release, the NFC Managing Director and actor Ali Nuhu announced the endorsement, noting the film’s selection as a celebration of African culture and history.

“The Nigerian Film Corporation (NFC), in partnership with Adonis Productions, will be screening the historical thriller movie “77″ at the Marche, during the 2025 Cannes Film Festival which gets underway from May 13-24, in France,” Nuhu wrote.
According to the release, “77” presents an opportunity for the global community to interact with and appreciate the narrative of African cinema.
Highlighting Africa’s landmark Festival of Arts and Culture in 1977, Ojukwu’s historical thriller is expected to boost market penetration in global film festivals like Cannes.
