Kunle Ogunrombi, better known as K-Peace, has accused the organizers of Nigerian Idol of failing to deliver on the prizes he won after emerging as the show’s fifth-season winner in 2015.
Speaking on The Honest Bunch podcast, K-Peace claimed he was promised ₦7.5 million, a brand-new car, and a two-week trip to Dubai, but he struggled financially after the competition.
“I came out of Nigerian Idol with zero naira in my account,” he said. “We would go for interviews on empty stomachs as a Nigerian Idol winner. We walked around Lagos without food.”

He alleged that the organizers kept delaying the rewards, especially the car. “They said it was being branded, but what they announced on TV was that I had won ₦7.5 million and a car,” he added.
K-Peace did not confirm whether he eventually received the prize, but his claims have sparked renewed conversations about reality show winnings in Nigeria. The organizers of Nigerian Idol are yet to respond.
