“Karate Kid: Legends” will hit theaters on May 30, 2025, reuniting franchise icons Jackie Chan as Mr. Han and Ralph Macchio as Daniel LaRusso.
This new installment follows Li Fong, portrayed by Ben Wang, a teenager from China who turns to martial arts as a means of self-discovery after moving to the U.S. Under the guidance of Mr. Han and LaRusso, Fong embarks on a journey that brings together elements from both the original “Karate Kid” and the 2010 remake while maintaining a fresh storyline.
The film’s cast also features Joshua Jackson, Shaunette Renée Wilson, Ming-Na Wen, Sadie Stanley, Aramis Knight, Wyatt Oleff, Danny McBride, and Jennifer-Lyn Christie.
Audiences got an early look at “Karate Kid: Legends” during this year’s New York Comic Con, where the trailer showcased intense action sequences and a fresh chapter in the franchise.
Directed by Jonathan Entwistle and written by Rob Lieber, the film exists within the same universe as the “Cobra Kai” series but stands on its own.
This new entry brings renewed energy to the classic martial arts genre, introducing determined young fighters to carry the legacy forward.
