MultiChoice Nigeria has appointed Kemi Omotosho as its new Chief Executive Officer, following the retirement of longtime CEO John Ugbe. The company announced the leadership change as part of its succession and long-term growth strategy.
Omotosho will assume the role in January 2026 after an orderly transition period designed to ensure continuity and operational stability. MultiChoice Nigeria said the handover will allow for effective knowledge transfer as the company navigates evolving market conditions.
In a statement, the company described Omotosho as a seasoned media and telecommunications executive with more than 20 years of leadership experience across Nigeria and Sub-Saharan Africa. Her background spans media, digital, and customer-focused businesses.
Omotosho has held several senior roles within the MultiChoice Group, including Executive Head of Customer Value Management in Nigeria and Group Executive Head for Customer Value Management across more than 50 markets. She also previously served as Regional Director for Southern Africa, overseeing operations across seven countries.
As CEO, Omotosho will oversee MultiChoice Nigeria’s strategy, operations, and stakeholder engagement. She succeeds Ugbe, whose 15-year tenure shaped the company’s expansion and operational framework in Nigeria’s pay-TV market.
