The filmmaker is gearing up for another pre-colonial dramaand he’s looking for fresh faces.
Kunle Afolayan is gearing up for a new Yoruba-language web series, and while full details are still under wraps, the filmmaker has dropped the first sign that production is underway: a casting call.
The call, announced via KAP Motion Pictures, is for a pre-colonial drama set to begin filming in August 2025. The production is looking for Yoruba-fluent male and female actors between the ages of 25 and 50.
Interested actors must submit a one-minute monologue in Yoruba, follow the company’s Instagram page, upload their audition with the hashtag #KAPwebseries, and email the video to gafolabi@kapmotionpictures.com. The deadline for submissions is July 20, 2025.
While Afolayan has yet to share the title or storyline, the casting call suggests another period piece in the vein of “Anikulapo”, continuing his ongoing investment in indigenous-language storytelling and historical themes.
