Ahead of its scheduled March 2026 theatrical release in Nigeria and Ghana, filmmaker and writer Laju Iren has unveiled the official poster for Onobiren: A Woman’s Story, starring Ruby Akubueze.

Iren, who serves as writer and executive producer, shared the first-look poster via Laju Iren Films’ Instagram page, offering an early glimpse into a story centred on women navigating social expectations and personal agency.

Onobiren follows Roli, a young woman who moves from Warri to Lagos burdened by tradition, obligation, and choice. Her decision to chart a different course leads to a journey marked by quiet resistance, survival, and self-discovery.

Laju Iren, Filmmaker, Writer and wife to Emmanuel Iren, lead pastor at Celebration Church International (CCI), is behind Onobiren, set in a conventional African society and exploring the weight of traditions and expectations on women’s shoulders.
