Nigerian singer and former Big Brother Naija winner Laycon has publicly accused DJ Neptune of withholding royalties from their collaboration on “Nobody (Icons Remix).”

In a post on X, formerly Twitter, Laycon expressed frustration over the prolonged silence regarding his share of the earnings. “Abeg o, DJ Neptune how far my agreement and split for the ‘Nobody (Icons Remix)’ song though. Is it not still ready? Haba it’s been 4 years,” he wrote.

The remix, featuring DJ Neptune, Joeboy, and Laycon, was released as a tribute to Laycon’s fanbase, known as the Icons. Despite amassing nearly 900,000 streams on Spotify, it appears that financial matters surrounding the track remain unresolved.

Laycon’s public statement suggests that attempts to address the issue privately have been unsuccessful. The collaboration, which capitalized on Laycon’s popularity following his BBNaija win, has now become a point of contention between the artists.

As of press time, DJ Neptune has not publicly responded to Laycon’s allegations.
