It is the second biggest opening day of 2025 after “A Minecraft Movie.”
Marvel’s latest offering, “The Fantastic Four: First Steps”, has recorded an impressive first day at the US box office as the second biggest opening of the year.
The film generated $57 million from combined preview screenings and showings across 4,125 cinemas on Friday, July 25, 2025.
According to a recent report, on July 26, this put “The Fantastic Four: First Steps,” behind Warner Bros’ “A Minecraft Movie”, which was the biggest opening day of the year in the US box office with $57.11 million in April.

However, “The Fantastic Four: First Steps” surpasses Marvel Studios’ comic book rival, DC Studios’ “Superman,” which brought in $56.1 million on its opening day on July 11.
“The Fantastic Four” opening marks the best first day for a Marvel Cinematic Universe release since “Deadpool & Wolverine” dominated the box office a year ago, grossing $205 million in its opening weekend.
With its recent opening day earning, speculations are up to see whether “The Fantastic Four: First Steps” can outpace “Superman’s” $125 million three-day opening or not.
