Mavo’s latest single, “Mofe” is already shaping up to be the biggest moment of the 21-year-old artist’s career.
Released on March 6, the three-minute track delivered a historic first-day performance for the rising star.
Within 24 hours of its release, Mavo earned his biggest streaming day of all time on Spotify with 3.13 million streams. The song has spent two consecutive days atop Spotify Nigeria’s Daily Top Songs Chart, debuting with 737,000 streams (his biggest opening on a song) and 396,000 streams on Day.
“Mofe” also sits at the summit of Apple Music Nigeria, relegating Mavo’s own “Big Bum Bum” with Kidd Carder no.3. At the moment, the singer boasts six songs inside the Apple Music Nigeria Top 10, including “Aura Salad” with SSSoundGawd (no.5), “Body” with CKay (no.8), “Money Constant” with DJ Maphorisa, DJ Tunez and Wizkid (no.9), “Tumo Weto” (no.10).
With this pace, a place in the US and UK Afrobeats Songs charts is inevitable for “Mofe.”
