Premiering October 3, the show highlights the stories of Nigerians returning home after living abroad.
TMPL Motion Picture has announced Japada, a new television program set to premiere October 3. The show spotlights Nigerians who studied or worked abroad and have returned home to contribute to national development.
Hosted by actor and media personality Omowunmi “Mimi” Onalaja, Japada focuses on the experiences of returnees, exploring how global exposure has shaped their decisions to invest in and build careers in Nigeria.
Each episode features in-depth conversations about the guests’ journeys, transitions, and personal reflections, with a segment titled Nigerian by Design. Guests come from various sectors including film, healthcare, entrepreneurship, technology, arts, and advocacy. Notable appearances include actresses Shaffy Bello and Osas Ighodaro, who discuss leaving life abroad to pursue careers in Nollywood.
Speaking about the project, Onalaja said, “Over the past 10 years, I have explored acting, modeling, compering, and working with different brands. But I find the most joy when I talk and engage in conversations.”
Japada will air on NTA, TVC News, NTA Network, and YouTube.
