The epic film will screen at the 2025 Toronto International Nollywood Film Festival, where it contends in multiple major categories.
Moshood Abiola’s “Agemo” Receives Six Festival Award Nominations
“Agemo,” an epic film by Nollywood director Moshood Abiola, has received six nominations ahead of the 9th annual Toronto International Nollywood Film Festival (TINFF).
The film earned an official selection for the week-long festival, which is scheduled to take place from September 6–13, 2025, in Canada.

Among the recently announced nominations, Abiola will compete in the Best Director, International category and the Best First Time Film category.
The director highlighted the effort behind the film’s production and credited his team for the recognition.

“This moment belongs to all of us. From script to screen, it took passion, grit, and a whole lot of talent,” he shared.
In the Best Actress, Nollywood/African Film category, Uzoamaka Onuoha earned a nomination, while Darasimi Nadi was listed for Best Child/Teen Actor.

Other nominations include Best Hair and Makeup, Best Graphic Design in a Movie, Best First Time Film, and Best Cinematographer.
These TINFF nominations build on the film’s growing list of accolades, including nods for Best Cinematography and Best Lead Actress at the AMVCA.
