Netflix has revealed plans for an upcoming documentary series that will give viewers an intimate look at the life and meteoric rise of Spanish tennis phenom Carlos Alcaraz, the youngest player to ever reach the No. 1 world ranking in men’s professional tennis.
Titled “Alcaraz, the Docuseries,” the project hails from Morena Films and is slated to premiere in 2025 on the streaming platform.
It promises to take audiences behind-the-scenes with extensive access to Alcaraz as he balances intense training, high-profile tournaments, growing fame, personal life, and the pressures of being a teenage star in a global sport.
At just 19 years old, Alcaraz made history in 2022 by becoming the youngest man to top the ATP world rankings after a breakthrough season that included winning his first Grand Slam title at the U.S. Open. His rivalry with all-time great Rafael Nadal has already captivated tennis fans worldwide.
According to Netflix’s announcement, the docuseries’ crew will embed with Alcaraz to capture candid footage from locker rooms, airports, practice courts, and team strategy sessions as he continues his ascent in professional tennis.
Viewers can expect insights into his training regimen, personal sacrifices, professional relationships, and management of newfound celebrity status.
Additional details about filmmakers, release timing, and episode order for “Alcaraz, the Docuseries” are expected in the lead-up to its 2025 Netflix premiere.
