Netflix has released the trailer for “How to Ruin Love: The Proposal,” the anticipated new installment in the streamer’s hit “How to Ruin” franchise.

The comedy series, set to premiere May 31, 2024, follows the story of Zoleka, whose trust issues threaten to derail her relationship with her boyfriend. In an effort to repair things, she interjects both their families into the situation, igniting even more chaos and drama.

“How to Ruin Love: The Proposal” represents the third series in the “How to Ruin” universe from producers Rethabile Ramaphakela and Katleho Ramaphakela and Burnt Onion Productions. The franchise is based around the relatable challenges of navigating relationships and family dynamics through a comedic lens.

The first series, “How to Ruin Christmas,” centered on Tumi Sello bringing her ex home for the holidays and causing mayhem. It was followed by “How to Ruin Christmas: The Wedding,” which saw Tumi trying to make amends by saving her sister’s nuptials.

True to its name, the new “How to Ruin Love” looks to showcase the hilarious fallout as Zoleka’s relationship is put to the test when parents and extended families get involved in the couple’s lives.

Netflix released a trailer teasing the over-the-top antics and cringe-inducing yet heartfelt family turmoil at the core of the “How to Ruin” saga. The series promises a fresh chapter in the popular South African franchise’s premium comedic storytelling.
