Nigerian producer Nicolette Ndigwe-Kalu has been selected by Women in Film Africa as one of five African producers to present at the Marché du Film during the 2026 Cannes Film Festival.

The selection was announced on April 6. The producers will participate in a Producers Network Breakfast Meeting scheduled for May 14, 2026, at the Producers Club in Cannes, as part of the market’s May 13–18 programme. Women in Film Africa, a pan-African organisation linked to Women in Film Los Angeles, is a presenting partner for the session.

Ndigwe-Kalu, who is affiliated with HB&Q Impressions Productions, will present alongside Alexandra Amon (Côte d’Ivoire), Shirley Frimpong-Manso (Ghana), Bongiwe Selane (South Africa), and Beatrice Wangodu (Kenya). Each producer is expected to showcase a current project to selected industry stakeholders.

Reacting to the selection, Ndigwe-Kalu described the opportunity as significant. “Honoured to be picked among these filmmakers to present at the Marché du Film at the Cannes Film Festival,” she said, also acknowledging Women in Film Africa, Women in Film LA, and programme partner Inya Lawal.

The Marché du Film is scheduled to run from May 12 to 20, alongside the Cannes Film Festival, which holds from May 12 to 23, 2026. Organisers say the 2026 edition will expand its digital offerings through a unified platform that integrates screenings, conference sessions, and networking tools for industry participants.
