Nigerian Cinema Dominates Nominations for TINFF 2024 Edition

The Toronto International Nollywood Film Festival (TINFF) has announced its nominees for the 2024 edition, highlighting the impressive talent within Nigerian cinema.

 

Set to take place from September 8 to September 15 in Toronto, Canada, this year’s nominations showcase the significant presence and talent of Nigerian cinema, with Nollywood actors and filmmakers dominating several key categories.

 

In the “Best Actor: African Film” category, 10 out of 14 nominations are from Nigeria, featuring notable actors such as Pete Edochie, Wole Ojo, Uzor Arukwe, Sabinus, Isaac Odeniran, Bimbo Manuel, and Eso Dike.

 

The “Best Actress: African Film” category also highlights Nigerian talent, with Cordelia Emeh and Biodun Stephen nominated for “The Subterfuge,” and Tana Egbo-Adelana and Ego Nworji nominated for “Tender Hedges.”

 

Additionally, Ireti Doyle and Nadia Buari’s performances in “Merry Men 3” have earned them nominations, contributing to the film’s total of three nominations.
