Ahead of Colours of Fire‘s debut, renowned Nollywood filmmaker Niyi Akinmolayan is set to hold a 16-day theatre show, The Forest of Talking Drums, setting an unprecedented record as Nigeria’s first-ever immersive theatre experience.
He revealed via Instagram that the show, which is organised under his production company Anthills Studios, promises an engaging experience where the audience will not only watch but become part of the performance. The live-action show features rain, wind and fire effects, offering audiences the opportunity to join actors in beating drums, waving torches and interacting with a living forest set designed to elevate their experience.

The upcoming show, with no confirmed cast or plot, is scheduled to run twice daily from December 19, 2025, to January 3, 2026, in Ikeja, Lagos. There is no age limit for the audience, making it suitable for children as well.
With The Forest of Talking Drums, Akinmolayan continues to position himself as a pacesetter, redefining African storytelling approaches with animation, cinematography and deeply rooted cultural stories.
