British-Nigerian actor Nonso Anozie won Outstanding Supporting Performer in a Preschool, Children’s or Young Teen Program at the 4th Annual Children’s & Family Emmy Awards, held March 2 in New York.
Anozie was recognised for his role as Tommy Jepperd in the Netflix series Sweet Tooth, marking a win after a previous nomination in 2023. The series was developed by Jim Mickle and is currently streaming on Netflix.
The ceremony reflected a strong showing for Netflix, which secured 10 awards overall, including five for Sweet Tooth. Anozie’s co-star Christian Convery won Younger Performer for his role in the same series.
Other acting winners included Joe Locke, who won Lead Performer for Heartstopper, Ana Gasteyer for Outstanding Voice Performer in RoboGobo, and John Lithgow for Single Role Voice Performer in Spellbound, according to Variety.
The Walt Disney Company led the night with 19 wins across its platforms, including five awards for Descendants: The Rise of Red. The ceremony, hosted at Jazz at Lincoln Center’s Frederick P. Rose Hall, also presented a Lifetime Achievement Award to Bill Nye. John Tartaglia served as host.
