The Nigerian Official Selection Committee (NOSC) is seeking submissions for Nigeria’s official entry in the Best International Feature Film (IFF) category for the 98th Academy Awards.

This follows Nigeria’s last entry at the Oscars — Prince Aboki’s epic Hausa-language film “Mai Martaba” in 2024 — which did not make the final nominations.

As announced on August 11, eligible Nigerian filmmakers can submit their feature-length films between August 13 and September 12, 2025.

Stephanie Linus, chairperson of the NOSC and a Nollywood actress, stated that eligible films must be produced outside of the United States. They must also contain at least 50 percent of dialogue in a language other than English, with Nigerian Pidgin English permissible.
