Osun Group, creators of the Netflix hit Supacell, is teaming up with British-Nigerian actor and filmmaker O-T Fagbenle on a new series in development at Amazon MGM Studios.
Titled Kill the Bedfords, the series follows a dysfunctional family on a frantic road trip to save their grandfather as the world collapses. Described as a “darkly comedic, action-packed apocalyptic road series,” it examines survival, technology, and human behavior through a family that argues even as society falls apart.
Fagbenle will create, write, star, and executive produce the project. He is joined by his brother Luti Fagbenle and filmmaker Sheila Nortley of Osun Group. Tara Ayeni, Osun’s head of development, also serves as producer.
The project reunites much of the team behind Maxxx, the British comedy series written and directed by O-T Fagbenle.
Osun Group’s recent work includes the BBC Storyville documentary White Man Walking, the Netflix adaptation of Blue Therapy, and Koppels in Crisis for Streamz. The company is also developing a series adaptation of The Catch by Yrsa Daley-Ward.
Additional production details on Kill the Bedfords are expected in the coming months.
