Kayode Kasum and Timini Egbuson’s romance drama “Reel Love’ has crossed the ₦200 million mark at the Nigerian box office, earning ₦224.9 million in total after making ₦34 million in its third weekend in cinemas.

Since its release on February 14, “Reel Love” has outperformed every Nollywood film in earnings and ranks second overall, trailing only “Captain America: Brave New World”, which topped the charts with ₦43 million.

Reacting to the milestone, lead star and producer Timini Egbuson expressed his excitement on X.

“This project is a miracle. One day I’ll tell the story. For now, all glory be to God, the amazing people I have in my corner, and the fans/supporters that have showed up and showed out for me,” the 37-year-old actor wrote.

Together, “Reel Love” and “Captain America: Brave New World” accounted for more than two-thirds of Nigerian box office earnings for the February 28 – March 2 weekend.

These films, along with 2024 holdovers like Everybody Loves Jenifa, “Alakada: Bad and Boujee”, “Moana 2”, and “Mufasa: The Lion King”, have helped push 2025’s total admissions to 512,420 so far. This marks an increase from the previous years—441,985 in 2024, 447,601 in 2023, and 505,903 in 2022.
