“Radio Voice,” executively produced by legendary actor Richard Mofe-Damijo (RMD), made a historic debut at the box office, earning ₦22.6 million during its opening weekend.
The film, which recently hit theatres on Apr. 11, comes second on the list of the top movies of last weekend.
Distributed by Nile Entertainment, “Radio Voice” trailed closely behind Iyabo Ojo’s “Labake Olododo,” which topped the list, raking ₦24.4 million in its third week.
The earnings of “Labake Olododo” now stands at ₦202.3 million after three weekends, marking a 45% decline from its ₦45 million haul the previous weekend, and a 51% drop from its impressive ₦50.2 million launch weekend.
“Radio Voice” dominated the Nigerian box office with its debut entry to become the highest-grossing new release of the weekend. It also earned the biggest opening weekend for a Nile Entertainment release in 2025, emerging as the No. 2 film in Nigeria and West Africa.
On Apr. 14, the official page of “Radio Voice” celebrated the film’s milestone with a congratulatory message to the team and hinted at more productions to come.
Directed by Isioma Osaje, “Radio Voice” serves as a poignant tribute to the rich legacy of radio in Nigeria. The film follows the life of a charismatic radio presenter, whose public persona, marked by widespread influence, stands in sharp contrast to the personal battles she faces off-air.
