Nollywood actress Rita Dominic is set to star in “Two of a Kind”, a Ghanaian-Nigerian film directed by Shirley Frimpong-Manso.
The collaboration between the two film industries is a signature for director Shirley Frimpong-Manso and her production company Sparrow Productions, as they are the masterminds behind the 2017 AMVCA-nominated comedy drama “Potato Potahto.”
In “Two of a Kind,” Dominic plays a resort owner who hosts a young couple celebrating their first wedding anniversary. The couple invites their friends to join the celebration, but chaos quickly ensues. As she observes the couple, and realizes that all that glitters really isn’t gold.
In an Instagram post, Dominic shares her enthusiasm for the project, thanking Frimpong-Manso for her masterful directing and lauding her young co-stars for their exceptional talent, dedication, and inspiring energy towards the project.
“Two of a Kind” also stars Gloria Osei Sarfo, Akrobeto Akwasi Boadi, Arion Amon, Gideon Kojo Boakye, Jessica Larny, Araba Dansowaa, Dean Louis, Chiderah David, Sena Fafali Ahiable, Abla Sena, and Michael Katahena.
The film wrapped up principal photography earlier in the year and will premiere, first in select cinemas in the UK on Nov. 29, 2024, and then in Ghanaian cinemas on Dec. 20, 2024.
With its cross-cultural collaboration and Dominic’s involvement, “Two of a Kind” is expected to add depth to African cinema while offering audiences an engaging narrative.
