The debut short film by the actress has been selected at the Toronto International Nollywood Film Festival (TINFF).
Nollywood actress and model Ruby Akubueze, known for her roles in “Ijogbon” and “Baby Farm,” has announced her debut short film, “Japa.”
The film has already earned a nomination for Best Short Film at the Toronto International Nollywood Film Festival (TINFF).
Akubueze revealed the news via her official Instagram page, expressing appreciation for her collaborators, John Amaraa and Ifionu, who joined her on the project.

“Unveiling ‘Japa,’ my first short film! Proud to be nominated for Best Short Film at @tinffestival. Coming soon. Stay tuned,” she wrote.
Starring Akubueze and Adeoluwa Akintoba of “Makemation,” the short film takes its title from the popular Nigerian slang “Japa,” meaning to migrate to another country in search of better opportunities.
