Shedrack Salami’s “Beyond Olympic Glory” Makes Power24 Official Selection
“Beyond Olympic Glory,” a documentary film by Nigerian filmmaker, Shedrack Salami has been selected to screen at Power24 International Film Festival in Durban, South Africa.
This marks the film’s second recognition in the country after its winning debut at Hollywood Africa Cinema Connection (HACC) 2025 in Cape Town.
The announcement was made across Salami’s social media pages on June 19, 2025 “We are very delighted to have @beyondolympicglory selected as a Finalist at the Power24 International Film Festival in South Africa under the Best Women Film category.” He wrote.
“Power24 is a stage for voices the world often ignores. From women to the marginalized, it shines light where it’s most needed and we are blessed to have this story here,”

Salami recognised challenges faced throughout the project, emphasizing that the film’s recognitions serve as a reminder of his motivation for starting the journey.
“To everyone who has supported this film, believed in Cynthia’s story and followed us through, thank you so much. We feel the impact and love,” he added.
With the exact screening date unconfirmed, the filmmaker revealed that “Beyond Olympic Glory” is expected to screen between August 22 to 24, 2025.
