The award-winning Nigerian telenovela “Wura” is set to return for its third and final season on Showmax,.
Premiering on Sept. 23, 2024, the show’s finale will air two episodes weekly, picking up where the second season left off.
The trailer reveals the fictional town of Iperindo abuzz with preparations for characters Tumi and Jeje’s wedding, which faces unexpected obstacles.
At the heart of the series, protagonist Wura-Amoo Adeleke’s carefully built empire appears to be crumbling as her enemies close in. Showrunner Rogers Ofime promises compelling plotlines and intricate character development.

Since its 2023 debut, “Wura” has consistently ranked as the most-watched title on Showmax in Nigeria. The series has garnered industry recognition, with lead actress Scarlet Gomez receiving nominations at the Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards (AMVCAs) and The Future Awards Africa.
The show’s success extends beyond viewership, with nominations in multiple categories at the 2024 AMVCAs and a win for Best Web Series at the 2024 Gage Awards.
“Wura” follows the story of its titular character, the uncompromising CEO of Frontline Gold Mine in Iperindo, Osun State.
Previous seasons explored Wura’s complex relationships and the lengths she would go to maintain her power, setting the stage for for a dramatic conclusion.
The returning cast includes Gomez, Yomi Fash-Lanso, Martha Ehinome, and Ray Adeka, among others.
As fans await the season premiere, Showmax has made the first two seasons available for streaming.
