“Something About The Briggs” Rakes Over ₦22 Million in Six Days

Bukola Ogunsola’s “Something About the Briggs” opened with ₦22.6 million in its first weekend in cinemas.
Distributor, Film One Entertainment, thanked the audience on X . “It’s Something About The Briggs season! Opening weekend made a smash hit, grossing over 22.5 million Naira at the box office. Thank you for showing this movie your love and support!,” read the post.
According to industry analyst, Nigerian Box Office on X, “Something About the Briggs” fell just ₦2 million short of “Everybody Loves Jenifa” over the January 31 – February 2 weekend. “Everybody Loves Jenifa” dominated the charts with a ₦26.5 million weekend haul, extending its remarkable seven-week reign at the top and pushing its total gross to ₦1.820 billion.
Following closely behind were “Mufasa: The Lion King” (₦15.8 million) “Den of Thieves 2” (₦14.7 million) “Alakada: Bad and Boujee” (₦9.1 million) and “The Waiter” (₦7.9 million) respectively.
“Something About the Briggs” tells the story of the wealthy but unstable Briggs family as it battles with internal division, caused by secrets and unresolved conflicts. It features an ensemble that includes Stan Nze, Rita Dominic, Daniel Etim Effiong, Iyabo Ojo, Bukky Wright, Elma Mbadiwe, Tunbosun Aiyedehin, Gloria Anozie, Norbert Young, and Ariyiike Owolagba.
