“Superman” Soars To $347M Domestically, Makes Highest Grossing List
Superman, directed by James Gunn has now grossed a total $347 million domestically to occupy the tenth spot on Warner Bros. Pictures’ top 10 highest-grossing films at the domestic box office.
As recently revealed, on August 25, Superman (2025) joins other record-breaking titles like Greta Gerwig’s fantasy comedy, Barbie (2024), The Dark Knight (2008), a superhero film by Christopher Nolan and Harry Potter, adapted from J.K. Rowling’s novels.
Barbie claimed the number one spot with a total gross of $636.2 million in earnings followed by Nolan’s Dark Knight ($535 million), which sits in second place.
As the third-highest-grossing film at the domestic box office, The Dark Knight Rises, part of the Batman franchise, made $448.1 million.
Other films on the list include A Minecraft Movie, Wonder Woman, The Lord of the Rings, The Batman and American Sniper.
As it makes the top 10 highest-grossing list, Gunn’s Superman adds to its impressive milestone, grossing over $600 million worldwide as projected.
