Taiwo Egunjobi has released additional details about his film “The Fire & The Moth,” following the recent wrap of principal photography.

Egunjobi confirmed the full lead cast, which includes Tayo Faniran, Jimmy Jean-Louis, Ini Dima-Okojie, William Benson, Ola Rotimi Fakunle, and Amanda Ugoh.

The film’s screenplay is penned by Isaac Ayodeji, with Fadamana Okwong serving as Director of Photography.

“The Fire & The Moth” is produced by Emiola Fagbenle, with Derin Adeyokunnu and BB Sasore as executive producers. The project is a co-production between Nemsia Studios and Sable Productions, marking their second collaboration.

This announcement provides more context to the film’s production, which completed principal photography in June 2024.

The involvement of multiple production companies suggests a significant investment in the project.

The crime drama, set in a western Nigerian town, centers around a smuggler’s escape with a rare Ife bronze head, an event that triggers violent upheaval in the community. This plot touches on themes of historical artifacts and their significance in contemporary Nigeria.

As with most film productions, “The Fire & The Moth” will now enter post-production. The typical timeline for this process can range from several months to a year, depending on the complexity of the project and any additional filming requirements.
