Hollywood is abuzz with anticipation as details emerge about the upcoming four-part biographical films centered around the lives and careers of the iconic band The Beatles.
On Mar. 31, director Sam Mendes revealed the cast of the upcoming biopic at CinemaCon in Las Vegas, along with a special surprise: each of the four films will be narrated from the individual members’ point of view.
This innovative storytelling approach gives audiences an exclusive front-row seat in the personal and professional lives of John Lennon, Sir Paul McCartney, George Harrison, and Ringo Starr.
Harris Dickinson will play Lennon. Paul Mescal will play McCartney, Quinn will play Harrison, and Barry Keoghan will play Starr.
Dubbed “the first binge-able theatrical experience” by Sony CEO Tom Rothman, all four films are slated for a theatrical release in April 2028 and will be distributed by Sony Pictures Entertainment.
Further cast reveal will be announced at a later date, but it is reported that Oscar winner Mikey Madison will play Yoko Ono in the biopic.
The Beatles were a British rock band formed in 1960, known for revolutionizing popular music with hits like “Hey Jude,” “Yesterday,” and “Let it Be.” Their influence extended beyond music into pop culture and fashion, making them global icons. Their latest song, “Now and Then,” was nominated for Record of the Year at the 67th Annual Grammy Awards.
CinemaCon is an annual film event hosted by the National Association of Theatre Owners (NATO), which brings together film studio executives, filmmakers, theater owners, and actors for an exclusive showcasing of upcoming films and innovations in cinema technology.
