“The Book of Clarence”: Divine Comedy Gets Jan. 12 Release Date

Sony Pictures has unveiled the official trailer for “The Book of Clarence,” featuring LaKeith Stanfield in the lead role as Clarence.
The preview offers a sneak peek into Clarence’s pursuit of emulating Jesus of Nazareth to escape poverty by feigning miracles. Despite his deceptive acts, he harbors no ill intentions, aiming to rise in societal stature and leave a lasting impact on the world. As Clarence gains newfound fame, he unwittingly incurs the wrath of enemies within the Roman Empire, leading his miracles into chaos.
Directed by Jeymes Samuel, the biblical comedy also stars David Oyelowo, Omar Sy, Benedict Cumberbatch, RJ Cyler, James McAvoy, Alfre Woodard, and a notable ensemble cast alongside Stanfield.
The film boasts an impressive lineup of artists for its soundtrack, including JAY-Z, Kid Cudi, Lil Wayne, Shabba Ranks, and more. JAY-Z has previously revealed that “The Book of Clarence” has been in development for a decade.
“The Book of Clarence” is set to hit theaters on Jan. 12, 2024.
