The official trailer for The Devil Wears Prada 2, the sequel to David Frankel’s 2006 comedy-drama, has surpassed 222 million views to become the most-watched trailer in the history of a 20th Century Studios film.
The Disney-owned studio confirmed the milestone on Instagram, describing the achievement as “groundbreaking” and celebrating the strong response to the long-awaited sequel.
The record comes three months after an initial teaser released in November 2025, which featured Meryl Streep and Anne Hathaway and marked the film’s return nearly two decades after the original.

Written by Aline Brosh McKenna and directed by Frankel, The Devil Wears Prada 2 brings back key cast members, including Streep as Miranda Priestly, Hathaway as Andy Sachs, Emily Blunt as Emily Charlton and Stanley Tucci as Nigel. The sequel is expected to continue the story of the characters as they navigate new professional and personal challenges years after the events of the first film.
According to early plot details, the story will centre on Miranda Priestly as she contends with industry changes and rivalry within the evolving media landscape.
The film is scheduled for a global theatrical release on May 1, 2026.
