Nearly two decades after the original, the fashion-world comedy prepares for its long-awaited return.
Production is reportedly set to begin on “The Devil Wears Prada 2,” with Meryl Streep expected to reprise her iconic role as Miranda Priestly.
The original 2006 film, based on Lauren Weisberger’s bestselling 2003 novel and directed by David Frankel, starred Anne Hathaway as Andy Sachs, an aspiring journalist who lands a job at a top fashion magazine under the notoriously demanding editor-in-chief, Miranda Priestly (Streep).
On June 19, nearly a year after the sequel was first confirmed, it was officially announced that production will begin this summer..

“The sequel will reportedly pick up years later, with Priestly navigating the challenges of a declining print magazine industry. She turns to her former assistant Emily, now a powerful ad executive for help. Emily Blunt is expected to return for the role.
It remains unclear whether Hathaway or Stanley Tucci will return, as neither has confirmed their involvement.
“The Devil Wears Prada 2” is currently slated for release on May 1, 2026.
