Nemsia Studios has unveiled the official trailer for its upcoming crime thriller “The Fire and the Moth,” ahead of its global premiere on May 16, 2025, exclusively on Amazon Prime Video.
Directed by Taiwo Egunjobi and produced by Emiola Fagbenle, the film stars Tayo Faniran in the lead role alongside Jimmy Jean-Louis, Ini Dima-Okojie, Olarotimi Fakunle, and William Benson. A screening is also scheduled for May 11 at the NollywoodWeek Film Festival in Paris, France.
Set in a remote Nigerian settlement and filmed across Ibadan and the UK, the story follows Saba, a young smuggler caught in a deadly web after stealing a sacred Ife bronze head. As powerful enforcers and corrupt officials close in, Saba must outmaneuver them to survive.
Speaking about the project, Egunjobi said the film offers a character-driven experience rooted in “heritage and greed.” He describes Faniran’s performance as that of a “doomed smuggler” navigating forces beyond his control.
The trailer is now available across Nemsia Studios’ social media platforms, including YouTube.
