Taiwo Egunjobi’s thriller “The Fire and The Moth” will now be released on Tuesday, June 3, exclusively on Amazon Prime Video.
The film had its world premiere in May at the Nollywood Week Film Festival in Paris, where it was part of the official lineup.
“The Fire and The Moth” follows Saba, a smuggler in a border town in western Nigeria, whose theft of a rare Ife bronze head unleashes a series of violent events. Tayo Faniran stars in the lead role, alongside Jimmy Jean-Louis, Ini Dima-Okojie, and William Benson.
A UK-Nigeria co-production, “The Fire and The Moth” explores themes of greed, guilt, and survival in a lawless world, with dialogue in Yoruba, English, and Pidgin.
Th film marks Egunjobi’s return to the global festival scene after his 2021 entry “All Na Vibes”, which opened that year’s Nollywood Week edition.
Egunjobi previously spoke to The Nollywood Reporter about the creative process and themes behind the film. Read the interview here.
