Season 3 of “The Real Housewives of Lagos” (RHOLagos) has shattered Showmax’s first-day streaming records, solidifying its place as a fan-favorite reality series in Africa.
Episode 1 now holds the title of the most-viewed content on Showmax within 24 hours in Nigeria and Ghana, surpassing the record previously set by Season 2.
The Africa Magic Original premiered on Monday, January 13, 2025, and quickly climbed to the third spot on Showmax’s Top 10 list across Africa, including Kenya and South Africa. On social media, the hashtag #RHOLagos trended at number one on X in Nigeria, sparking widespread discussions.
“This reaffirms our audience’s love for local content and authentic representation,” said Dr. Busola Tejumola, Executive Head of Content and West Africa Channels at MultiChoice Nigeria. Tejumola highlighted the show’s success in engaging viewers through its relatable storytelling, cultural richness, and captivating cast.
This season introduces three newcomers—beauty queen and entrepreneur Dabota Lawson, beauty mogul Adeola “Diiadem” Adeyemi, and media personality Sophia Momodu—joining fan favorites Laura Ikeji Kanu, Mariam Timmer, and Carolyna Hutchings. The series promises to deliver an even more extravagant glimpse into Lagos’ dynamic culture and lifestyle.
Distributed internationally by NBCUniversal Formats, a division of Universal Studio Group, “The Real Housewives of Lagos” continues to redefine African reality TV. Fans can binge-watch Seasons 1 and 2, along with their dramatic reunions, on Showmax, while new episodes of Season 3 air every Monday.
