The Lagos Fringe Festival, Africa’s largest multidisciplinary arts gathering, has announced its upcoming event scheduled for November 18-23, in Lagos, featuring short films, special exhibitions on visual arts and sustainable fashion.
The festival is now accepting submissions for short films and welcomes participation from artists working across diverse disciplines including theatre, film, dance, comedy, spoken word, music, and performance art. This year’s theme, “Hybrid Identities: Merging Boundaries,” will explore cultural intersection and artistic fusion.
The 2025 program includes performances, exhibitions, workshops, masterclasses, and industry conversations designed to inspire both audiences and practitioners.
Since its launch in 2018 by Kenneth Uphopho, Lagos Fringe has established itself as a cornerstone of Africa’s creative ecosystem.
The festival’s mission extends beyond showcasing talent to actively supporting professional growth through developmental programs, grants, vendor markets, and targeted solutions that address obstacles in funding, networking, and capacity building.
The festival remains committed to its open-access model, celebrating creativity across all artistic disciplines while serving as a vital nexus connecting festival managers with artists from around the world.
