A new Nigerian web series, “The Struggle Is Real (TSIR)”, will premiere on Film Patio’s YouTube channel on March 1.
Co-directed by Temilolu Fosudo and Debola Santa Ogunshina, the series captures the realities of young Nigerians facing financial and personal struggles.
The show follows Pam, a woman trying to rebuild her life while adjusting to a new housemate, and Remi, a newcomer in Lagos learning to coexist with a diverse set of people. Set in an apartment building, “The Struggle Is Real” explores themes of love, loss, and friendship against the backdrop of the country’s economic challenges.
Featuring a cast that includes Folaremi Agunbiade, Wumi Tuase-Fosudo, Akorede “Korexx” Ajayi, Yemisi Fancy, Wendy Lawal Simpson, and Tobee Awosika, the series aims to provide a refreshing and relatable take on young adulthood.
Created by Wumi Tuase-Fosudo and Folaremi Agunbiade—who also serves as the writer—the project boasts cinematography by Mosadoluwa Akinjobi and Blessed IfeOluwa.
The producers, including Tuase-Fosudo, Agunbiade, Tobee Awosika, and Paul Aderanti, describe the show as a passion project developed with industry professionals and close friends.
“We wanted to create a realistic story of young people for everyone to enjoy,” the producers said.
