TheGlobalPoet Wins De9jaspirit Talent Hunt Season 4

Running for seven weeks, the fourth season of the De9jaspirit Talent Hunt concluded with Deborah Johnson, Jeremiah Oluwajenyo, and Christian Victor Eshiet emerging as the top three winners.

Deborah Johnson, known as TheGlobalPoet, has become the first spoken word artist to win De9jaspirit Talent Hunt (DTH), securing the top prize at the Season 4 finale held on November 9.

 

The 22-year-old from Delta State earned 21.58 percent of the votes and walked away with ₦30 million. Johnson gained attention throughout the competition with performances addressing womanhood and everyday Nigerian realities.

 

Thirteen-year-old saxophonist Jeremiah Oluwajenyo, also known as Jeremiahfj Sax, finished as first runner-up with 20.94 percent of the votes and received ₦7 million. His performances  including tributes to Victor Uwaifo, Lagbaja, and gospel classics  earned viral traction and public support from celebrities such as Funke Akindele, AY Makun, and Tunde Ednut. He also won Best Weekly Performance three times.

 

Visually impaired singer and keyboardist Christian Victor Eshiet, who performs as Chris Vic, placed third with 18.32 percent of the votes and received ₦3 million. His emotional performances made him one of the season’s standout acts.

 

This season featured 22 contestants over 10 episodes, showcasing acts such as singers, comedians, contortionists, and instrumentalists. It also drew major engagement from local and international blogs, boosting visibility for contestants across social media.

 

Since its launch in 2021, De9jaspirit Talent Hunt has grown into a key platform for discovering Nigerian talent. Season 4 expanded its reach with a campus audition tour across universities in Lagos, Abuja, Enugu, Benin, and Port Harcourt.

 

The judging panel included IK Ogbonna, Liquorose Afije, Dr Sid, and Vector, who joined the show for the first time.
