Mercy Aigbe’s “Thin Line” Premieres on Netflix October 1

The Mercy Aigbe–produced thriller arrives on Netflix October 1 after a successful box office run.

Nigerian Netflix subscribers will be able to stream Thin Line beginning Independence Day, October 1. Produced by Mercy Aigbe and directed by Akah Mason, the two-hour thriller explores the moral dilemmas confronting individuals in positions of power and trust.

 

Thin Line opened theatrically on December 13, 2024, earning ₦28 million  in its debut weekend—including ₦4 million from weekday previews. Competing with major titles such as Kraven the Hunter (₦26m), Moana 2 (₦27.9m), and Everybody Loves Jenifa (₦190m), the film went on to close its theatrical run in February 2025 with just over ₦135 million.

The story follows Pastor Raymond Njoku (Uzor Arukwe), a respected marriage counselor whose life unravels after an affair with Annie (Uche Montana), a prostitute. When Annie is found dead, Raymond becomes the prime suspect, but a shocking twist reveals the true culprit—driven by jealousy after discovering Annie’s pregnancy.

The cast features strong performances from Iyabo Ojo, Ibrahim Yekini, Niyi Johnson, Yvonne Jegede, Nkechi Blessing, Igwe Olaiya, Mercy Aigbe, Arukwe, and Montana.

 

Alongside Thin Line, Netflix‘s October lineup includes: Love Is Blind Season 9 (Oct. 1), The Game: You Never Play Online (Oct. 2), Steve (Oct. 3), Monster: The Ed Gein Story (Oct. 3), Old Gods: New Tricks (Oct. 3), The New Force (Oct. 3), and Genie: Make A Wish (Oct. 3).
