The Toronto International Nollywood Film Festival (TINFF) returns for its 9th edition, taking place from September 6 to 13, 2025, at selected venues across Toronto, Brampton, Ontario, and Canada. Officially recognized as a qualifying festival by the Academy of Canadian Cinema & Television for the prestigious Canadian Screen Awards, TINFF continues to champion compelling global narratives and elevate underrepresented voices through the power of film.

This year’s edition presents a dynamic and diverse slate of films that reflect the festival’s longstanding commitment to multicultural storytelling and cinematic excellence. Nigerian filmmakers are strongly represented, with powerful titles such as “We Hid in the Sun” by Moyosore Eleso—making its world premiere on June 13, 2025, in observance of World Albinism Day, “Preye” by April Chidinma, “Night Shift” by Patience Abigail Iseriehen, “Clique” by Ola Adesanya, “The Carer” by Olaolu Thomas, “Salamatu” by Olajide Adelaja, “In Her Shoes” by Nehita Ofure Irieme, and “Hidden Hand With a Last Card” by Godspower Nwogwugwu.

The international spotlight includes selections like “Destiny’s Window” by Jada Silverstein, “The Violet” by Mohammed José, “El Baile” by Daniel Mejía, “Money Baby” by Maya Pettersson, “Peek” by Sina Ghasemi, “Child Support” by Aaron Dougherty, and “GEM” by Justice Ornan Abadah. Additional titles from different countries will also be unveiled as the festival finalizes its program.

Held alongside the 3rd annual CBDFM Summit, TINFF 2025 promises a week-long creative convergence featuring official film screenings, interactive Q&A sessions, insightful panel discussions, roundtables with industry experts, and rich global networking opportunities. More than just a film festival, TINFF serves as a vibrant cultural marketplace where business meets storytelling and where cross-industry partnerships thrive.

A standout feature of this year’s festival is the TINFF Fashion Show, an electrifying intersection of style and cinema that celebrates cultural identity through innovative fashion.

As a Canadian Screen Award–qualifying event, TINFF continues to forge valuable links between Nollywood and Canada’s entertainment industry, encouraging meaningful cross-cultural collaboration and professional development.

The 2025 edition culminates in a glamorous red carpet gala at the Pearson Convention Centre, capping off a week of screenings, industry sessions, and celebratory moments. The festival’s extensive lineup of partners and participants includes top-tier content houses and distributors such as Nollywood TV, Iroko TV, and FilmOne, as well as international streaming giants like Netflix, Amazon Prime, and Afrostream.
