Prepare for another dose of laughter just days after Valentine’s celebrations as “Last One Laughing,” the first South African original series on Prime Video, hosted by Trevor Noah, hits the screens.
The first three episodes are set to air on Feb. 16, 2024.
Following the success of the Nigerian version of “LOL: Last One Laughing,” hosted by Basketmouth, South Africa’s adaptation features 10 of the nation’s funniest comedians. From Celeste Ntuli to Moonchild Sanelly, the lineup includes a diverse range of comedic styles and personalities, all vying to keep a straight face and avoid laughter-induced elimination to be the last one standing recurve the grand prize of 1 million Rand, donated to a local charity of their choice.
Trevor Noah, renowned for hosting “The Daily Show” and his stand-up comedy prowess, leads the show, promising audiences a hilarious experience.
In collaboration with Rapid Blue, a BBC Studio company, “LOL” aims to display the comedic talent of South Africa to a global audience.
The Nigerian version generated buzz on social media, with fans and celebrities sharing reactions. Now, with a fresh lineup of comedians, the South African edition is poised to captivate audiences and bring moments of joy in a laughter-packed competition.
