The South African star’s new single, CHANEL, becomes the first song to score a No. 1 debut simultaneously on the Billboard U.S. Afrobeats Songs Chart and the Uk Afrobeats Songs Chart.
Tyla Dominates Latest U.S. Billboard Afrobeats Charts
South African singer Tyla continues her global chart domination, scoring a new entry atop the Billboard U.S. Afrobeats Songs Chart with her latest single CHANEL.
The three-minute track was released on October 24 and runs for three minutes and blends Tyla’s signature Amapiano-pop fusion with smooth, sultry vocals. It is not only her third No. 1 on the U.S. chart, but with its similar position atop the UK Afrobeats Songs Chart, CHANEL becomes the first song to score a No. 1 debut simultaneously on both charts.
While CHANEL isn’t part of any announced album yet, it’s rumored to be a teaser for her upcoming project.
Notably, her two-year-old Grammy-winning hit Water remains strong at No. 3, after slipping one spot from No. 2 as Shake It To The Max (FLY) featuring the quartet of Moliy, Silent Addy, Skillibeng and Shenseea relinquished the top spot to CHANEL.
She also holds the No. 5 spot with PUSH 2 START and appears again at No. 9 on Body Go with Ghanaian artist Moliy.
The Billboard U.S. Afrobeats Songs Chart, launched in 2022, ranks the 50 most popular Afrobeats tracks in the United States based on streaming, radio, and sales data.
