The track earns over one million streams in 24 hours, breaking her own record
Grammy-winning singer Tyla has achieved a new streaming milestone with her latest single, “IS IT,” which posted the biggest first-day debut of her career on Spotify.
Released on July 11, 2025, the Amapiano-pop track earned 1,274,357 streams within 24 hours.
The release makes Tyla the first South African female artist to debut a solo single with over one million Spotify streams in a single day, surpassing her previous record. Her last high, “Bliss,” released in May 2025, recorded 921,440 streams on day one.
With “IS IT,” she now holds the top three solo Spotify debuts for a South African female artist, followed by “Art” from her self-titled debut album “Tyla,” which opened with 763,794 streams.
The song also made an impact on other platforms. It debuted at No. 6 on Apple Music South Africa, matching her breakout hit “Water” as her highest-charting solo track on the service. On iTunes South Africa, “IS IT” debuted at No. 1.
Internationally, the single is charting in over 30 countries, including the United States, Iceland, Romania, and Trinidad and Tobago highlighting Tyla’s growing global audience.
Fans have already dubbed “IS IT” the “song of the summer,” praising its mix of Amapiano rhythms and pop melodies. The music video has surpassed one million YouTube views, with the track also gaining traction across social media.
The single is widely believed to be the second release from Tyla’s upcoming summer mixtape, “WE WANNA PARTY,” expected to lean into her signature blend of dance-heavy, genre-fusing sound.
