Miracle Blaise’s “Perfect Woman” is set to premiere on January 23, 2025, following an impressive run of festival selections, including the New York International Film Awards, Toronto International Nollywood Film Festival, and Imo International Film Festival.
Produced through the Rise in Light Storytellers for Change Grant, the short film aims to inspire action on cervical cancer prevention and women’s health in Nigeria and beyond.
The film features a powerful performance by veteran Nollywood actress Tina Mba, alongside emerging talents Mfon Akpan and Udiak Akpabio.
Co-written and directed by Blaise, “Perfect Woman” brings to life the struggles and resilience of women confronting cervical cancer, emphasizing the importance of early detection and prevention.
The Rise in Light Storytellers for Change Grant, which supported the production, provides funding for filmmakers addressing pressing social issues through impactful storytelling. Blaise’s work has already gained recognition at major festivals such as AFRIFF, marking him as one of Nigeria’s rising filmmakers to watch.
