David Midell’s supernatural thriller “The Ritual” is set to hit cinemas on June 6, 2025, drawing inspiration from a real-life exorcism widely considered one of the most documented in American history.

 

The film stars Al Pacino and Dan Stevens as Catholic priests Theophilus Riesinger and Joseph Steiger, who confront both a powerful demonic presence and their own strained partnership. Abigail Cowen plays Emma, the possessed woman at the center of the escalating spiritual battle.

 

Also featured in the ensemble cast are Ashley Greene, Meadow Williams, Patrick Fabian, Patricia Heaton, and Maria Camila Giraldo.

“The Ritual” is based on accounts from the 1935 book Begone Satan, and delves into the psychological and spiritual toll of confronting evil. It is directed by Midell and produced by Enrico Natale, Andrew Stevens, Mitchell Welch, and Ross Marks.

 

Distributed by XYZ Films, the film promises a chilling, character-driven horror experience ahead of its June debut.
